From inexperienced to connoisseurs: courses at the CFI Asoprovida

You live in the middle of the chaos of the city, amidst the whistles, smoke and constant hustle and bustle. Suddenly, one day you pack your suitcase and set off on a journey that, like all of them, will not leave you the same.
Almost at the end of the journey, you arrive at the main park of Chinácota. There you board one last bus to reach your destination. The bus takes you up the mountain. You see the mountain where you are going, all the surrounding mountains and all the trees that surround them. Faced with a landscape so different from your starting point, you feel different: calmer. And tell me, who in their right mind doesn't want to live in that state?
Getting out of the city and into reality
You start to feel the cold creep into your pores and you put on your jacket. Finally you see the sign: "Asociación Agroecológica La Arcadia".. You have reached the Asoprovida's Comprehensive Training Centre.
You pay for that last ticket and get off. You feel the sudden change of environment to step into and experience the world. You no longer hear thousands of noises that stress and confuse you. Now you only hear and see the birds, the colourful butterflies, the wind and the eloquent silence of nature, which only needs to be itself to enrapture and relax us.
This change to this new place seems to you as if someone has thrown a bucket of cold water on you to put you in your place of origin: nature. Because if you think about it, your earth is your bones, your blood is your water, your air is your thoughts and your fire is your energy. So this is how your own nature becomes in tune with the external nature and inside you feel calm, unburdened, harmonious.
A bucket of ice-cold water that makes you realise a strong truth: you have just entered full reality. You have just stepped out of the Matrix in which you were born and in which you have lived alienated for many, many years.
Falling in love with real life at the IFC
Then you start to get a taste of real life outside the Matrix. You immerse yourself in a routine that, like everything that happens for the first time, is difficult to internalise. It takes a while. But over time you begin to fall in love with that reality. You fall in love with the delicious taste of the food, the singing of the birds, the harmony, the flowers and the joy of the people.
You realise that the CFI is a place that allows you to acquire all kinds of knowledge in a comprehensive way.nurturing knowledge, but also being. For such a demanding requirement, there is the NGO Asoprovida and there is such a place.
The Arts and Crafts course: learning what we use without seeing
On that trip in December 2025, you will take part in one of its many theoretical and practical courses: the Arts and Crafts course. In it you learn both the concepts and the workings of things that we see and use every day in a mechanical way, without realising all the effort that other human beings put into them. Things as apparently simple as connecting the circuits of a light bulb, preparing a loaf of bread or going through the whole process of coffee production.
What each class teaches you about life
🌱 Agriculture You learn how to sow in the ground and in a seedbed, and you realise that you are your own little plant that you have to look after all the time.
🍞 Bakery You realise that you must knead yourself in the face of life's changes in order to have the exact texture you need to be ready.
🥛 Dairy products and their derivatives To enjoy the delicious taste of the sweetness of life requires a lot of time, faith, care and commitment.
⚡ Electricity To make a light shine, one must carefully connect each of the wires to its corresponding source. And likewise, one must connect to a higher source to make the light within oneself.
☕ Coffee production To enjoy a flavour you love, you first have to go through many processes - picking, drying, roasting and grinding - before finally drinking it after a lot of patience, dedication and perseverance. As the phrase goes: "trust the process"..
🎨 Drawing and painting Life is a painting full of all colours in their different tones and shades. Each one of us is a blank canvas called to paint a work of art worthy of admiration. It is not about painting all the time, but about turning ourselves into a beautiful work of art through conscious, righteous and just acts.
🪡 Sewing Life is a thread that must be joined by connecting the dots that the universe places in front of us, in order to clothe us with light and joy.
And so on, through the different classes, you learn to know, to be and to do.
And in a moment of all those kinds, you become friends with someone who changes your life completely, making you see it with simplicity and love.
CFI opens its doors: Asoprovida national course
Again the Asoprovida's Comprehensive Training Centre opens its doors to the Colombian population with a national course in which all the themes of his portfolio will be taught:
